Global Impact Initiative
At Bonvera, we’re a community of leaders seeking to drive a global movement that uses business as a force for good.
Here’s how we’re doing it.
ENDING POVERTY IN SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA
In Sub-Saharan Africa, we’re partnering with Crown Financial Ministries and Foundations for Farming on a solution to poverty called “I Was Hungry.” African farmers of the moringa plant, an emerging ‘super food’ used to improve a large variety of health conditions, are trained to steward their land and harvest. The “I Was Hungry” organization puts boots on the ground to teach agricultural financial skills to help these farmers create businesses that will sustain their families and bring an end to hunger, dependency and poverty.
Bonvera purchases moringa directly from the farmers and created a proprietary product line called Kutano. A portion of all Kutano product sales is contributed to I Was Hungry, a partnership between Crown Financial Ministries and Foundations for Farming.
SUPPORTING FARMERS
Bonvera supports Thrive Farmers Coffee in Latin America and sells Thrive Farmers farmer direct coffee. Thrive Farmers sources all coffee beans directly through farmers in Guatemala and Costa Rica. The Thrive-Direct model creates sustainability for the farmers and helps them constantly improve the quality of their farms, products and lives. Thrive Farmers provides a premium product and a portion of the profits goes back to entrepreneur training centers in the farming countries.
HELPING COMMUNITIES GLOBALLY & LOCALLY
This life is made of moments, and every moment matters. With the Moments Matter Foundation, donations support our partnerships world class non-profits from around the world to include Crown Financial Ministries, Foundations for Farming, ThriveWorx, and many more. 100% of donations go to support these amazing organizations. Thank you for your support of these organizations as we work hard to make a difference in our local communities and around the world with your help!
SEEKING B-CORPORATION STATUS
Bonvera is currently pursuing a B Corporation certification. Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. B Corps as they’re called, accelerate a global culture shift that redefine business success and strive for a more inclusive and sustainable economy. By harnessing the power of business and leadership, B Corps use profits and growth to a greater end: positive impact for employees, communities and the environment.
LIVING IN GOOD FAITH
Although Bonvera is not a faith-based organization, faith does play a prominent role in the desire to make a difference in the world through a company that goes further than generating shareholder value. The company, and the values of the leadership, seek to create positive change throughout the entire supply chain, ensuring every touch point with society is making a beneficial difference.
Bonvera simply provides a way to live out the commands that Jesus referenced in Matthew 25 – the three parables. These parables provide a framework for how to live highlighting Lordship, Stewardship, and Generosity. Jesus told his disciples that whatever you do for the least of these, you do for me. That’s why our company is so passionate about serving others through our partnership with Thrive Farmers, I Was Hungry, and Moments Matter Foundation. We believe in serving, equipping, and loving those that have been misplaced, forgotten, or unseen by the world because that’s what Jesus asked of us. At Bonvera, we are striving to be a Matthew 25 company, and this is how we live in “good faith.”
